What is a Leather Tannery?
A tannery is a facility where raw hides or crusts are processed or "tanned" into what we refer to as leather. Leather is "any skin that has been tanned or preserved".

We own our own tannery in Argentina. We process or tan only the finest raw hides. We use exclusively Bovine Cow Hides and preserve them with the most advanced Òchromium sulfateÓ tanning process. From the most raw of materials, the raw hide itself, to the finished sofa, Boca Leather Furniture controls the entire process thereby ensuring you the highest quality leather furniture money can buy for much less money than you should expect to spend. Boca Leather Furniture is the only company in the world today controlling the entire process from the raw hide to your home.

How the Tannery works?
Our hides are a byproduct of the meat and dairy industry. No hide is ever harvested merely for the leather. The tannery accepts the raw hides and sorts them based on their esthetic beauty. The least attractive hides (scars, insect bites, etc.) are finished for use in the low-end furniture, automotive, apparel and shoe industry. The most pristine or pure of hides are our specialty and are processed to enhance their natural suppleness and beauty. These full grain hides are found on the finest of leather furniture along with very expensive handbags and apparel. Boca Leather Furniture uses only the most advanced tanning techniques coupled with "Old world" hand working to produce the most beautiful and most sensual experience leather furniture can offer.

The Beauty of Leather
Full-grain leather is nature's product. It has individual characteristics that make each hide unique. Leather will always retain the marks of its natural origin. No two hides are ever alike.
